Whale Wars Review: Animal Planet

Loki reviews an advance copy of Whale Wars. Premieres Friday, November 7th at 9PM EST/PST on Animal Planet.

The 7-part series filmed over three months in 2007 and 2008 documents the nearly annual campaign of Captain Paul Watson and the crew of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society's ship the Steve Irwin as they battle Japanese whale hunters off the coast of Antarctica. The laws in international waters are applied inconsistently by different countries. Japanese whaling ships claim to be hunting in the name of research, even prominently displaying the English word "research" on the sides of their ships. Sea Shepherd contends that the Japanese research vessels are a cover for commercial whaling.

Southpark was so stupid on this issue, they were pissed with sea shepherd because sea shepherd didn't use bombs, Molotovs, and basically kill people...........they're just stupid, but hey, that's the show that's highly ant Semite, anti ginger, anti women, anti religion, anti anti smoking, and is credited for inventing the day "kick a ginger day".

This series is nothing but good editing, narrating, and dramatic music. All of the problems they face are caused by the inexperienced crew. Half of them look like they are gonna die because of their all vegan diet aboard the ship. Paul Watson 90% of the time has his jaw open because of what his "crew" just managed to break. I don't agree with the jap killing that many whales per year. But I also don't agree with insanely dangerous ship movements on the damn antarctic ocean.
