  • "E pur si muove"

    What does that mean?

  • @jxvwp "And yet it moves"

It's rumoured that Galileo whispered this under his breath after the Catholic Church threatened him into denying heliocentrism. They forced him to announce that the Earth is stationary, but of course he knew better.

  • Very good films: music, ex[planation... I like it

  • @middlekk I'm surprised they did at all.

  • like the music, can we get it anywhere?

  • @Daruqe Its bad science because he began with initial presuppositions and set out to conform his model to those presuppositions, rather than purely the observations. I would still consider him to be a remarkable scientist.

  • love the video, we could all use a little more knowledge......

  • Just curious why Ptolemy's model is considered bad science (by whom?), because it did fit his observations right? We know it to be wrong now, but was there any evidence he was glossing over when he made his model?

  • I'm thinking of becoming an astrophysicist when i get older... I'm fascinated by the universe.

Well, then again, aren't we all?

  • Very nice and thanks for posting this!

    Just a couple of points:

Circles are ellipses with eccentricity = 1

Everything is always relative when speaking of motion/velocity/acceleration (i.e. retrograde, etc.)

  • great vid,, well done..
