How do I safely trim my cat's nails? What happens if the nails get too long? Ali, our Master Groomer, answers these questions and takes you through a trimming, step by step.
It's always taken 2 of us to trim our older cat's nails. We had taken her in as a stray when we found her eating birdseed under our carport, so that's understandable. However we recently adopted a kitten so I figured by starting out when he's young, he would get used to it.. Uh, not Bugsy! He'll allow you if he feels like it. 1 thing I found helps with our elder kitty is to get her reallllyy relaxed with catnip, though it's still easier if there are 2 of us.
but how do you do it solo when your grown cat does NOT like it? I've had to wrap up kittie in a towel to hold 3 paws and clip free paw - gets a bit hard for the hind paws.

Please explain how one accomplishes this with a cat who believes they are a saber toothed tiger...
beyond letting someone else do it!
