Harpist Amanda Woosley performs the hit Andrew Lloyd Webber song from "The Phantom of the Opera". From her new album "Beautiful Impressions" available for purchase at www.austinharpamanda.com

A lot of people have asked me where I got the arrangement for this piece. It was done by Sylvia Woods as part of her Andrew Lloyd Webber for the harp book. You can purchase a copy at www.harpcenter.com

The harp I play on is an Aoyama "Vega", handmade in Japan and bought through dealer Marni Williams of Classic Harps Northwest in Portland, OR.

  • I've been playing for 14 years as of 2009.

  • Absolutely beautiful! I have always loved this song, and after hearing your rendition, I love it even more! It's now on my list of pieces to learn! What model of the harp are you playing on? It sounds gorgeous!

  • I Love That Soft, Melodic Harp Sound.

  • wow! I am jealous i want also to play harp...

  • amazing and beautiful. thanks for playing and posting

  • so lovely :) I am gonna be starting to learn to play the harp, I hope someday I can play this piece (it's my favorite song) Thank you for the wonderful music and inspiration.

  • Brilliant!

  • And most important: enjoy what you are doing and share your enjoyment with others! Always have some pieces that you play just because you like them, and don't let fear keep you from performing for other people. If you enjoy what you are doing, other people will enjoy listening to you, even if your technique isn't perfect, and you're not at the level of a world-class performer yet! The pieces you perform don't have to be difficult or complicated to be pleasant to listen to.

  • Thank you! I'm excited to hear you are just starting out on the harp.

    My tips for beginners:

Pay attention to the technique your teacher gives you; good hand and arm position helps prevent strain and injury down the road.

Practice makes perfect; don't be discouraged if it takes time to master a song. Let your teacher help you select music that's appropriate level for your stage of learning.
