Governor Paterson: Call Time Out on Atlantic Yards!

Bad to worse is the direction Bruce Ratner's Atlantic Yards is heading. The developer announced to the New York Times that he could not get funding for the entire project, and has now demolished far more buildings than he will replace for decades, if not ever. Changes in the project have made it so much different than the one the state approved that a new approval process must be initiated. Governor Paterson, please call time out on Atlantic Yards to prevent further demolitions, and the misuse of Eminent Domain to create in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, what the New York Post has dubbed Atlantic Lots. We can use the buildings that are still standing in the land grab site for housing NOW. Please prevent the decades of blight Ratner is bringing, and open the process up to the community.
