@segr3do It's deliberately so, as a homage to Kubrick. Personally I like it - it suits the tone of the film.

Computers intended to be highly secure always transfer data through physical media. They're disconnected from not just the internet but also LANs, to prevent any sneak entry.

They are using physical media to transfer data; Outdated already!

@Mewigi well, Kinect does more "body detection" where as Minority Report also does finger and wrist detection. Holding up two fingers could mean something completely different than 3 fingers when moving your hand around.
