Yours Truly Johnny Dollar "The Cronin Matter" Part 1/7 Part One of Seven .Oldtime Radio Drama. when Bob Bailey played Johnny Dollar, shows aired for 75 minutes, with great character development and exceptionally entertaining stories. It later returned to half hour shows. Johnny himself also changed throughout the shows, at one time tipping bellhops and waiters tip-top, tossing them silver dollars. But he was always gruff and tough.
Johnny narrated the shows as if they were expense accounts sent to his employer. A clever way of narration, it always began, "expense account, item one," with him telling about cab fare, then went on through the air fare, his trip across the country, and so on through the adventure. At the end of the show, he would finish his expense report and sign it, "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar."

I have maybe 200 or so stations to choose from on XM in my vehicles. I've found that most of the time; over 90%, I'm listening to Radio Classics. I actually get excited when I have more than an hour's drive left and Greg'll announce another Yours Truly Johnny Dollar Marathon. I first recall hearing Edmond O'Brien's half-hour version in '03 or so. Sure, this treatment of the genre is a little hackneyed when measured against the jaded sophistication of our age but I love to listen to it.
