@SpyJacob1 Sometimes films are scheduled for a certain release date, when a number of problems can arise ... it might be a post production problem which requires reshooting of parts of the film, or a problem with visual effects that pushes back the opening after the teaser is released. In other cases, the producers find out some other huge film is going to open at that time, and they choose to push back the opening to a date with less competition in order to maximize profits.

@SpyJacob1 Because it's a trailer... which means it was seen BEFORE the movie. So, it still is a 2002 film.

I used to think the same thing till i relized i died in south east asia as a adult , simultaniously living as a 9 year old kid in southern indiana. I did die there Fell on a mine i recall it all too well . ALSO and most important THE TRIP BACK with in a few min 20 or so of original birth. thier are other lives preston knows most of these.

This film was based from the book by H.G.Wells; who also wrote "empire of the ants" which then became a 1974 PG movie.

this movie always has me thinking of like how mankind if really insignificant compared to geologic and universal time and to the universe itself. That our time spent as a species may be short, yet we strive to prevail and preserve our identity throughout the ages despite the situation. and given the opportunity, humanity will rise again from the ashes.
