"What you have in effect is a standard bass drum pedal -- when you push down on the front of the foot plate, the chain pulls the cam and the beater hits the head. OK? However, what we have as well is a heal plate that also pivots in the opposite direction to the main pedal. When you push this down with your heal, the movement is translated through a metal beam which lies underneath and to the side of the front foot plate, to a push/pull rod that is connected to a second cam that pushes another beater (the left one as you sit behind it) towards the bass drum head."

@peniku8 Didnt mean cheap in price obviously. What special effects are being done other than the ultra speeds? The "low audio frequences" youre referring to are the ultra fast bass rolls, which I never said arent difficult at all to play (though I am sure if you are already good at heel toe you could get those speeds with ease). On to your third point, what in the fuck are you talking about? A bass roll (essentially one note) takes the place of a bass player? Youre fucking retarded.

These "cheap mechanical enchangements" cost about a thousand dollars.

This is not to get the fastest possible speed. The pedals are for special effects and when you listen to Henker, you hear that he doesn't use it much (at ultra high speed).

I like the way he generates low audio frequences (;-)) and this is fucking difficult to play.

As a result, you don't need a bass player if you have such a drummer :D
