Lyrics:

Can you say history, Art History

(Chorus)
Another art movement,
Surrealism and cubist,
Impressionism let's do this,
Let's talk about artists, It's all 3 movements.

(Verse 1)
This style is like, 150 years old,
And what the critics said is how it was told,
They said "Excuse Mr. Claude that is not art, and,
That's an impression man, it's just a sketch man,"

From that point? It was impressionism,
Wanted to stick to the men that were questionin em,
And every piece showed, the progression in em,
And they revolutionized the profession's rhythm,

With a paintbrush, they captured any moment,
How the light shines was the point, any second,
Every color in the art as the eye would see,
Pictures show transient light in reality,

Transcribed sensations of what was visible,
Unconcerned with realistic depictions of the physical,
Pissaro and Sisely, and Degas, were critical,
They started it, and you know their art that their art's original

(Chorus) x2

(Verse 2)
But if you are irrational,
Then surrealism is passion you'll,
Find in your dreams, I try to make sense of it,
But when you mention it, it kinda seems like fantasy,

A different art form, it was something new,
But it started as a movement that would prove,
What our dreams can do, that they are real too,
Philosophy to challenge rationality in you,

Persistence of memory, Salvador Dali,
Melancholy and Mystery of the Streets,
And that's by Chirico, don't forget Joan Miro,
He painted freely, with how much reason? Zero.

Surrealists made claims that seemed ironic,
Tried to preach what made sense without usin much logic,
Took cognizance, and bridged it to our subconscious,
Don't be so cautious, don't be obnoxious,

(Chorus) x2

(Verse 3)
Let's talk about the most radical,
Innovative, influential ism of last century,
Started with Two men, began a movement,
A joint invention their legacy,

Picasso and Braque was his companion,
Proportions and continuity were abandonded,
Organic integrity, they demanded,
Should be disregarded, tradition disbanded,

The approach was geometrically analytical,
No it wasn't typical, yes it left critics quizzical,
But it grew, and soon it was all but invisible,
Simplify natural form to cylindrical spherical,

Fractured objects and overlapped parts,
Two-dimensionality was cubist art,
In every exhibition they had starred,
So smart went hard so avant-garde,

(Chorus) x2

Gettin back to art again.
