Kagamine Rin & Len, Hatsune Miku - Not Together... [Issho janai...]

(Part II, song 3. Next up is "Mata Aetara". The previous song waaaas... "The Desicive Battle's Day", yeah.)

Well! This was fast! I got to workin' on the translation as soon as I found my way around the video quality issues I had before (now I can sub in peace), and had it done within the hour. ;w; The amount of words I have to look up in the dictionary is slowly decreasin'... it's awesome!

Now, this song is GREAT, just a little confusin', so... my interpretation: firstly, I hope y'all know that Abe-san is a popular yaoi character. His yaranaika has been remixed into songs, even. Now, remember that Len rejected Rin in the previous song. We can assume that he was kinda involved with Abe-san, but judgin' by the illustration... Rin probably sucker-shot him for revenge.

That aside... I find it hella touching how Miku tries to comfort Rin, in her way. Trying to tell her that someone's worth and love is not something people see right away, trying to make Rin laugh and, most of all... y'know how Rin was always saying things like "watch me, I'll shine" when she wanted to prove herself. Her goal was clearly to be better than Miku. So, for Miku herself to say "I'll love you just a little; you did shine" is really touching ;w;

Just another thing: Len's part in this song seriously proves the potential of the Vocaloid programs. Really. Try to sing it. I dare ya. It's possible, but difficult.

NOTES:
*What the lyrics say is "insults", but what she sings is "words"
**Abe-san, of course. It's another one of his catchphrases like, "yaranaika/won't we do it?"
***Sagumo is a street in Tokyo
**** They're characters from a manga series. The important part is that they're kids; I think Len is mentionin' them to alude to the loss of innocence. Whether that's 'cos of the things he's seen by being with Rin or, err, his involvement with Abe-san, or both... I dunno.
