The silence that followed his confession had Tim squirming slightly in his seat as they stopped, once again, at a red light. He risked a glance over at Lana, who was staring at him with those chocolate brown eyes. He had a fleeting moment where he wondered if he should have told her at all. I mean, they'd known each other what, five hours? But Tim felt like he could trust her. It wasn't as if she'd given him a reason not to...but then again, she hadn't exactly had a lot of time to give him one.

"I'm not sure if I'm more shocked about the fact that you were spanked at all, or that you still are," Alana said finally. "I guess, with all the media around you and your family, and all the TV specials, it would have slipped eventually."

"I tend to mind my behavior more when I'm in public or in front of cameras," Tim said. "And I'm not a bad kid, either. I've gotten loads of them, but never close together. It's mainly just slip ups here and there that my dad or my brothers don't let slide."

"Your brothers?" Tim nodded. "Hm...Robby, I can see. But Peter...what, aren't you like six inches taller and fifty pounds heavier?"

"Yeah, but my goodness he can wield a wicked brush," Tim said. When he realized what'd he'd let slip, he blushed. Thankfully Lana couldn't see in the dark truck. "Enough about me. Tell me about what you did after you adopted Blake. You were still at school, right?"

"I was on the fast track through the University of Tennessee," Lana nodded.

"You're a vol?" Tim asked, faking revulsion. "Ew. I can't believe I let you in my truck. You better not corrupt Blake with all the orange and white."

"Remind me not to show you a picture of his room," Alana giggled.

"Vol!" Tim looked into his rear view mirror to see Blake grinning at him. He guessed it was too late to save the small boy from the dark side.

"At least tell me I didn't hug a Florida State fan," Tim said.

"Yucky!" Blake exclaimed, and Tim smiled.

"Anyways, I had a nice house off campus that I was sharing with a sorority sister of mine. She and I had opposite schedules, so when I was in class she kept Blake. It worked for my last semester of college, which was all I needed, then I moved back to Nashville into a small house in a nice neighborhood. I got a job at a veterinary clinic, which was my major, and I started up with my training again."

"Training," Tim repeated, glancing over at her.

"Yeah, I'm a competitive shooter. I've actually been to the Olympics," Lana told him as they pulled onto the street of the nice steakhouse where they would be meeting the Tebow clan. "Not to brag, or anything, but I got three gold medals in China."

"Wow," Tim breathed. "Three gold medals at the Olympics? Aren't you like, famous or something?"

Lana laughed, a beautiful sound to Tim's ears. "No, not famous. I got recognized, in my hometown of Nashville, and around the state. I'm not a fan of recognition."

"Are you going to London this year?"

"I am, yes. Actually, tomorrow Blake and I are going house shopping up here."

"You're moving here?" Tim asked, pulling into a parking spot next to a truck he recognized as his brother Robby's. He assumed all of the family had come in Robby and Gannon's vehicles because they were the biggest.

"The training facility for the team is here in Denver. Well, it's actually a few minutes towards Springs," Alana said as she climbed out. Tim had walked around the truck and was helping Blake out of the truck. The small boy was still clutching the game ball. "And I'm gonna find a place to rent up here. I'll be a Colorado native for about the next year."

"You'll love it here," Tim said.

"Timmy!" Tim bent down and gripped Blake's sides. As quick as a whip Tim had the small boy up off his feet and thrown into the air with a squeal of delight before settling his small body on his own larger hip. "Timmy."

My goodness, Tim was falling hard for this little boy.

"He never talks this much unless it's just me and him," Lana mused as she watched the two boys interact. Tim was now hanging Blake upside down in his arms as they walked towards the front doors of the restaurant. "I guess he just likes you."

"Of course he likes me," Tim smiled, moving Blake to cradle him like a baby. "What's not to like?"

"I thought you were the humble type," Lana said, looking over at him as they were led through the packed steakhouse to a table towards the back. "You don't sound very humble right now."

"I like to joke around with the kids I bring out," Tim admitted. "But, you're also easy to tease too. Just wait until my brothers hear you're a vol. You're never going to hear the end of it."
