Don't know quite how this evolved for us but sounds a little more like "Stray Cat Strut" than "16 Tons". :-) Anyway, I don't think Tennessee Ernie Ford is spinnin' too much. Ronnie Truitt, vocals and guitar. Jace Weber, mandolin. Mary Beth Truitt, bass. Louis Fiquet, harp. Martina, guitar.
Like you're updated version w/swing and love the sound of a woman's voice included with the variety of instruments. It must be fun to sit around and jam like that.

I really, really liked this. The picking reminds me just a bit of Aerosmith's 'One Way Street', but there's also a nice, "folksy" feel that takes the song back to its roots. I could see some folks in an old time Appalachian mining town getting together and performing a version very similar to this. Nicely done!

Sounds good. I think Ernie Ford would be proud.

Nice rendition. I do it a little differently. It is good to hear it done this way.

not bad at all even if it sounds more like minnie the moocher and less like 16 tons but it`s still a great version.
