John William Waterhouse - A portrait drawing in red chalk is compared to some other works by Waterhouse.
~
The drawing is titled, 'Portrait Head of Aline Henderson'. Aline was the daughter of H.W. Henderson.
~
Many works by Waterhouse were part of the Henderson family collection. Aline's uncle was Alexander Henderson, 1st Lord Faringdon ... see the entry about half-way down the article, 'Patrons and Collectors' ...

Waterhouse became a friend of the family and presented this drawing as a wedding present to Aline in 1911.
