Haiti is a small nation located in the Caribbean Sea on the western third of the island of Hispaniola just 600 miles off the coast of Florida. This tiny nation was once known for its lush, natural beauty, but today is one of the poorest countries in the world. Each and every day the people face the crippling effects of poverty, undrinkable water, high infant mortality, poor medical care, illiteracy and high unemployment. However, given the opportunity, the Haitian people will help themselves. Haiti Outreach is committed to providing that opportunity.

Nautimelissa - you should go to Haiti (like I have 11 times (mostly with Haiti Outreach). You'll fall in love with the Haitians; they are a very beautiful people that are extremely loving and generous. You'll also come home with a greatly increased appreciation for America, no matter what its flaws.

Don't be sad, have hope. I've been to all 50 states and would rather go to Haiti again than anywhere in America. I can't wait to get back there.
