I really don't like the drum part on this LIVE perform

@GuitarRoast now that's a way to stagnate music. the limits of three chords are (maybe) soon to be reached. and creative souls like mr govan shouldn't listen to music philosophy of one guy proclaiming simplicity, he stands above this fashion-like thinking and does beautiful things

@GuitarRoast if you by "Music" mean punk, then I agree.
As long as it's musical complexity is good. Also, you seem to be suffering from the misconception that precision and technicality counter feel. In order to play with great feel and phrasing you need a certain lever of control.

That's for people who "play" guitar...guthrie usually improvises his solos at shows. His songs aren't overly technical, they do have breaks where it's just a few notes to hold the melody. And if you're going to be writing instrumentals, the guitar has to be technical. Don't diss one of the greatest guitar players of all time when you know nothing about the instrument yourself

that improvisation solo bit in the middle gave me the biggest boner ever

Is there a dvd of this somewhere? The sound and video quality is excellent (not to mention the playing!)

If I was hired as big G's touring rhythm guitarist, the first night would be the best of my life, then the constant humiliation would lead to an early demise.
