@coldstaind91 when they covered wish they were in their primes...but thats not my point..what i want to say is to nin fans: stop blaming lp..cuz they did it to pay respect to a great band, and to lp fans: lp will never perform it better than nin.

@12345678905693 LP is far past their prime. They fucking suck now with that A Thousand Suns shit...if Trent was to put out another album this year like he says he will, it will rock as hard as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo did.

To lp fans now: Remember that NIN created this song. Noone can represent a song better than its creators. 2nd, lp are on their primes now and NIN is a very old band. SO THERE IS NOT A FUCKING COMPARISSON. I FUCKING ENJOY BOTH GREAT PERFORMANCES

Ok after viewing some opinions i think its time to express mine aswell. I listen a lot of lp and this band is the reason that i learnt this song. Now. I dont understand why both sides claim that their favorite band performs this song best. To NIN fans: How you ever thought that lp might sang this song due to deep respect towards NIN and NOT to surpass them and by trying to prove that they are better than them??......

Really wish he would go back on tour one last time. Seen him in concert 5 times already and each show was better than the last. Mike = rock god

@rekhyt95 Don't mistake what i said for hating, i couldn't care less about LP since it doesn't deserve my attention. I'm just stating the facts... it's a shitty band aiming at hormone-driven angsty kids.
An artist has the freedom to do whatever he wants to, as long as he and his work will stay genuine, otherwise he turns into a formalist. Which is precisely what happens here. People get upset that formalists (LP) try to connect themselves to artists which they happen to like.

@bart2ozor Oh, the hate! Well, I guess Linkin Park is popular as well, and I do know 14-year-olds listening to NiN, so you should show some nuance. By the way, I guess an artist has the freedom to create and construe a piece of music in the way he/she wants to. I don't want to seem like some kind of fanboy, because I'm really not - I like NiN and their music - but if you have a problem with LP's version of this, you don't have to listen to it. It's not like it's spammed on the radio or anything.

Trent Reznor is a Rock God and trying to mimic him is blasphemy. He has released full albums, and full HD Concert footage for free, and allows people to remix his music. What does LP do? They try to copy him by squeaking into a microphone and want you to pay to hear it. It's like Justin Bieber covering Slipknot.
How about everyone shuts up, and Listen's to the Music ?

I don't understand why people are hating on LP for making a cover for this. I mean - as an artist you have the freedom to perform a song in the way you want.
Honestly, by making a cover more people are going to listen to the original song as well. In my opinion both bands are doing a great job performing this awesome song. Well, I guess NiN fans are annoyed to have LP-related comments on this page, but as a true fan you'd prefer purchasing a CD anyway.
