@brndnrckn I agree with the first part of what you said.. And I think I understand the second.. but forced compassion? forced kindness? Yes I agree that Westboro Church needs to go.. and personally I'd beat them up if they came to my sons funeral who/if he was gay and picketed saying he went to hell. But..sadly as much as I HATE those people.. I still wouldn't ask to have any of my rights or yours given up on free speech..a good example is the protests on Wallstreet, Greece and world.

@snowfallzz well when i have kids, the only thing i would "force" on them is kindness and compassion. as long as they based their decisions on kindness or compassion, i could not care less what party they supported, or how they believed the world came to be, or who they loved, or what they liked to do, or if they want to be vegan, or what job they wanted. and i think he government should only force kindness and compassion upon their citizens. as long as they guarantee us non-harmful expression.

@snowfallzz i think everyone has the right to speak out against their government but thats not what the wbc are doing. they are criticising fellow american citizens, and picketing funerals of dead soldiers. thats what should be banned. hate speech is harmful expression. just as murder is harmful expression. you americans are so hyped up on freedom and rights, that you dont realise that children are being bullied, american citizens are being harassed and people being unfairly criticised.

@brndnrckn Society breeds ignorance and social misunderstandings of other peoples pain. I teach my kids to have an open mind but that yes truth is science and science is universal in it's own nature.. iow subjectivism is false because reality exists apart and independently of how we choose to feel about it at any given time. Subjectivism opens the door to irrationality and error based upon per-supposistions and pre-formed ideas does it not? So truth is universal, tried and tested.

@brndnrckn However..there is a lot of brainwashing in European societies as well as our own..such as the need for English royalty when they really don't do anything at all for Australia but tax you..Since Australia is independent from English commonwealth to a great degree..many favor total financial independence but you will not vote on it because the children are all taught to think Royalty is important. That's why I tell my kids the truth as I know it to be true vs society.

@brndnrckn Well I am a Christian and my wife is an atheist.. I see her point of view but she will never see mine haha.. In the end it doesn't really matter I suppose if someone is truly following their heart weather this is a huge pixel based reality, aliens did it or there really is a divine being which I assume there must be. I don't believe in punishing people for their doubt..that's purely scientific in nature and it's good to be skeptic.
-
@brndnrckn I'm against Westboro Baptist Church as well lol. But to be against freedom of speech is very communistic in nature..to not be able to speak out in redress against your government how can you ever have a true democracy? I mean that's just living and being controlled by a single party. If Martin Luther King, and Rosa Parks would have been jailed for speaking out..they never would have been able to change bad laws against africans that were enforced by white supremacists.

@snowfallzz in my country we have 3 major parties. my grandmother supports the liberal party, and mother supports the labour party, and i support the greens. but really i only support the greens as they are the only party run by a gay man, and i want to see a gay man as prime minister. but still the point is, that you should bring your child up they way they way they want to be bought up, let them explore the world. they should make their own decisions. dont say this is bad, and this is good.
-
@snowfallzz well im not american, and really i hate your so called "freedom" and "rights". i much prefer the way my country is run. for example i am against free speech. and so is my country. and thats why people like the westboro baptist church are banned from ever entering my country. and they should be. i find it sick that your government lets them do what they do. but children should be raised secularly.
-
@brndnrckn But that's not the point on that though, the point is separation between Church and State..That's saying you don't have the right to bring up your children as democrat..or republican..or that Buddhism is bad. That tramples on civil liberties at that point and is a very slippery slope. To have the government tell you how to conduct the confines of your beliefs was outlawed by the forefathers of this country. Our Bill of Rights they don't have in N Korea. N. Korea.
Hillary Clinton is one disgusting bitch. I wouldn't piss on her if she was on fire.
