IN THIS VIDEO, watch as Lieutenants Justin "JUGS" Halligan and Gregory "Gerbil" Holley put this Super Hornet through its paces in a demonstration over Jones Beach. Take note of the massive vapor cones in the high speed pass - they are among the very best cones I have ever seen in a Super Hornet demo. In conversations with these two aviators, they reached Mach 0.98 on the high speed pass and 78 knots on the high alpha pass.

I apologize for the quality of the video, as the high winds and cooler than expected temperatures caught me off-guard, and while dressed for summer-like weather, I was freezing, and the effects of that can be seen in the video (a lot of shake - similar to if I was shooting with the HC52, even though I was using the FX7).

The Blue Angels will be there next year the switch on and off with the Thunderbirds but since the Navy will be main eventing the airshow their will probably be a USAF F-16, 15, or 22 demo.

i was there and i gotta say the high speed pass was simply amazin,my 1st time seening it and wow..everyone gotta see it up close once in there life..cant wait to see whos performin next year

Yep unfortunately the Super Hornets dont get as much oooh and ahh in publics eyes, but the people who know planes know this thing can RUN AND GUN.

I am a advid F18 fan, even the A/B/C/D models can do some things that even alot of others f22s, sus etc cant do. All about the Lexes BABY! Amazing high speed pass.

Excellent video and demo. At about 4:46, they turn the aircraft over at the top of the climb and complete it as an outside loop! Never seen that done before. The more I see this aircraft demonstrated the more respect I have for its capabilities.
