Don't get your hopes up for electoral reform within one parliament

How much longer must Canada wait for reform?

The most recent bashing of electoral reform done by the Toronto star was made a few days ago on Jan 27, 2010.
"Electoral reform, the panacea favoured by some, would result in an even more fractured Parliament, with likely more power in the hands of the executive."

I dont know how the Toronto Star's editoral came to this conclusion other than the fact that the paper wants to continue the 2 party system ruled by the Liberal and the Conservative Party
Feb 2009
For Canadians who were shocked by the backroom deal late last year that led to the formation of a "coalition" to supplant the Conservatives in office, this kind of horse-trading is another reason to think twice about bringing proportional representation here.

TORONTO, Sept. 30 /CNW/ - VoteForMMP.ca is accusing the Toronto Star of
fear-mongering and inaccurate journalism in the Star's editorial today against
electoral reform.
In today's editorial, the Toronto Star repeated the misleading claim that
under Ontario's proposed new MMP system, the new province-wide candidates "could simply be appointed by party bosses."
"This argument is regularly being used falsely by unthinking defenders of
the status quo to deter support for needed electoral reform," said Rick
Anderson, campaign chair of VoteForMMP.ca. "It's a shame that a media
organization with the Star's credentials is not more careful with the facts
regarding such an important question confronting voters."

Liberals for Electoral Reform

What media network is controlled by the Conservatives? Good luck finding a Conservative network, they are all liberal.
In addition do you know what it would take to change the electoral system? The referendum didn't have a full plan. For example how would for example a Majority Conservative government run by a NDP PM work?
You're pretty negative about your vote, you even say it doesn't matter, try telling that to an immigrant from Uganda or Rwanda...

@marcelthemaoist that's the best you can do? Oh how the mighty self righteous have fallen. You know who the real people who went toe to toe with the Nazis are? Canadian soldiers who entered the war in 1939, more than 2 years before the americans became involved. They are the real heroes, not you. Get your head outta your ass and get over yourself.

@marcelthemaoist Just curious, how many generations do we have to go through before people can live their lives without stupid fucks trying to make them feel guilty? Also your channel states that Canada has the same human rights record as America, I'd suggest you crack open a history book since anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together knows that's revisionist bullshit. Yes we are not perfect, name me a country that is. You're also the fattest fucking communist I've ever seen.

@erikcashman Actually, the original Native spelling translated to English would be something like Kanata, but in any case it has nothing to do with being "edgy and cool" it has to do with the politics of KKK: kanadian kolonialism kills. It reminds us this place is stolen Native land and that klanada participates in imperialism and war, and is part of the world wide problem.

@marcelthemaoist ooooh, spelling it Kanada, how edgy and cool. You're a wild card sir.
