This shows how to witness honestly and why the "sneak the Gospel in" type of "evangelism" actually hinders ministry and is not doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.

(This is a clip of a QandA session with Paul Washer.)

  • which sermon came from this same location? im trying to find it

  • @RockSprites we are... not seeing eye to eye. You are saying "be prepared to give an answer" and I am saying "a ready answer is quick, but a hopeful outlook is higher" neither of us is wrong (certainly the fact that I am saying more is not important) but where you find one scripture and move on, I find interest in how Jesus fulfils scripture through more than what is written and stay put. You may not want to stay put now, that is your choice, but when you are witnessing you will wish you had.

  • @MrGodkid Well you've misinterpreted what I said a bit. I didn't say to be prepared to answer every single question, or to have "all" answers, but that you should be prepared to give an answer for the hope that is within you.

  • @JimmyTheKirkie God loves diversity, the question is stupid

  • @RockSprites your encouragement to "be prepared to give an answer" carefully conceals two important facts about having a living faith, one) enjoy being prepared, two) be prepared to give *any* answer (any answer that is Heavenly) while "being prepared to give an answer" is one answer, it is not all answers (as your allusion to the authority of scripture would suggest, be that as it may) if you will have wisdom and you reply, you will attempt to meet me halfway without yielding scripture

  • @MrGodkid Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems you're referring to Christ, when He told His disciples not to prepare ahead of time what they would say when they were PERSECUTED, and dragged to prison. That the Holy Spirit would give them words in those times. But there are strong admonishments in Scripture that we should always be prepared to give an answer for the hope that is within us, and to defend the truth once and for all delivered to the saints. I think you might be misunderstanding..?

  • @ItStrikesMidnight Do you realize that Calvinists have easily, easily responded to this hundreds of thousands of times? You'll have to try a little harder than that. We're not as stupid and ignorant of the Scriptures as many would like to think we are. By your very comment you reveal that you know and understand very, very little about Calvinists and Reformed theology and thinking. Because if you understood a little more, you wouldn't have ever even made such a comment in the first place.

  • You should never prep yourself to witness, with words that pass away (the Lord will remind you of this when it is time), all men's words pass away.
