@Calsummersishere She was heavily involved in political causes for some years, which this movie only hints at in the last scenes (she talks about the director who was jailed). I too thought this movie didn't really cover everything she did in her life. It's clearly meant to be mostly about Dorothy's Algonquin years. It gives the impression that all she ever did was drink, act miserable and have doomed relationships, and write a little bit in between; really there was much more to her.

"It's nothing personal, Doctor, but I think my version of pain is more fun than yours."
That line pretty much defines Dorothy's life.

Best line of the movie: "Did she say anything about me?" !

"maybe it's the bad whiskey i've been getting" i think i might have mentioned that in some point in my life. lol.

what an interesting but sad movie.
Parker lived until she was in her 70's???
what a long life for someone who seemed so conflicted and so discontented and so very much dissatisfied. i wonder what did keep her going. maybe this movie didnt properly explore her struggle to live.
"I never thought i'd made it" ... best acceptance speach ever
