Did you know Campbell voted himself a 54% pay raise in 2007? So his salary for that year was $186,000. And now he wants more so he makes this HST. So everytime I buy something, I have to pay him 12% of what a bought.
@BCLibFan You are a loser just like the scum of a Premier you worship. Gordo has lied through his teeth on more than 1 count to get elected (as have most of the BC Liars). The HST is SOLELY to garner revenue to make up for the $165-million+ cost overruns of Gordo's stupid little party called the Owelympics. Your lies (and Gordo's) won't change that.
@nicks100 Not DAMN LIKELY. Business won't reduce the prices; they'll just pocket the difference as profit. You believe this tax is revenue-neutral, I have a bridge for sale. In the words of an ex-Miami judge, I wouldn't believe Gordo if his tongue came notarized.
So the HST is revenue neutral, so what? All "revenue neutral" means is that the government doesn't make any extra tax dollars in the process. If our costs increase by X amount, and that amount is passed on to big business, then its revenue neutral. If you believe the Stats Canada report, the HST will cost a family of four an additional $821/year. They should feel good about that? The big winner is big business and the bigger the business, the bigger the windfall.
We assume that Nicks100 is one of the blinded Liberal supporters on the HST but in his blind allegiance to Gordon Campbell, he is conveniently ignoring a key fact:
1. We presume he isn't aware that government's definition of "revenue neutral", is that it doesn't getting any additional revenue in the process. If it increases our costs through the HST by, say, $500 in increased taxes and puts it in the bank accounts of business, that is "revenue neutral" in their eyes. It isn't in ours!
