Leopard 2 is a tank destroyer, however it was bested by the Challenger 2 in terms of combat survivability and ranging force projection, It was engaged and destroyed before it was even able to spot the challenger 2, Saying this, there is NO tank capable of going head to head with the Leopard 2 in conventional head on head slag outs,

Turkey: all leopard 1 tanks are being upgraded to T level. all leopard 2a4 are being upgraded to NG(next generation) level making it supirior to the A6(FACT). most m60`s are being upgraded to sabra level making is automaticly a thirth generation tank. and turkey is making a total of 1000 altay tanks(one of the best in the world!) the old m48 are so upgraded (tr2) they are all equal to a m60 a3.

@grekos1940 It is not in numbers anymore like in WW2. Dont forget that there are a lot of affordable hi precision portable anti tank launchers available today. ERA Armour can only protect crew at some degree, like RPG-7 indirect fire or older portable launcher from Sovijet era, but newer AT launchers of large caliber shell are designed with ERA armour in mind which is most advanced armour today on all tanks in most armys. By the way Leopard 2 is IMO the best tank aver built.
