How do nurses achieve better nurse-patient ratios to lift the standard of patient care? How do workers in dangerous industries win tougher safety standards? How do teachers win smaller class sizes to boost students' ability to learn?
The answer is collective bargaining, and these benefits go hand in hand with better pay, better conditions and the ability to have your say at work -- in all industries.

  • @marklincoln,

I couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @FratelliBoy ur a socialist!!!!

  • Have no idea what your stament has to do with my comment? Unions are nothing but communism in disguise

  • What? I think you're forgetting something. Bosses do no work at all! THEY shouldn't be paid at all.

  • Dealership Mechanics

customers are charge OVER a $100 a Hr for us to work on there cars,we are dam luck to get $19 an Hr we cant afford to live any more mechanics wont stand and fight for a fair deal we just walk thousands of us have left the industry for good The MTA have now come to realize more tradesmen leaving the trade for ever than they can get apprentices,We have the most advanced electronics of any industry the only way to stadilise our industry is to have a collective aggrement.

  • I could care less about other countries labor policies but some one sent me this video so I'll comment. collective bargaining means you won't get a raise unless everybody does. So when you work harder than the rest of the worthless lot it's to no avail because the company has to pay the worthless the same as the productive and therefore can't afford to reward acheivement. Smaller classes benefit no

one but the union as private schools do better

    with more students per teacher

  • the ad is designed to convey a simple yet important point, no, it's not a flashy coke ad i'll grant you that.If you are a union memeber and collective bargaining is still not a happening thing in your workplace, do something about it, demand it!!Your rights at work are worth fighting for! Remember??

  • Judging by what's happening in RailCorp with our collective bargaining, it doesn't look like it's making much of a comeback. When will the NSW State Government get onto the bargaining bus and start negotiating in good faith?

  • Doesn't look as if you used actors, the delivery of the uninspiring script is rendered dull and lifeless. In an increasingly un-unionised world you might want to explain collective bargaining as well.

  • The message is right but frankly this ad is BORING. Let's be fair dinkum. Has the ALP brought collective bargaining back?
