    first I saw the clip I thought it was a gyro malfunction but you said no controls at all.

    is it the battry went out or rx malfunction?

    Most tail failures result in the total loss of tail thrust, and in the case of the T-Rex 700, this means the heli body/chassis will pirouette nose-left or opposite of the direction of the main blades. Sorry to hear Benny Chi was hurt from flying debris. Let's all wish him well. Being struck like that by a blade weight (not flybar, as I was told) is a one-in-a-million shot. Stuff happens even when the best precautions are taken.

    It only looks that way because the tail servo was connected to the airborne electronics and according to the pilot (which is a friend and fantastic pilot) there was no response from any control function. The heli seems to be pirouetting 'against' the torque, not as a reaction to torque. This says the tail servo was hard-over for nose-right command. More...
