@fordwindsor351 yes ikk that is how much they can tow.. but for a plow its how much the front end can holdd... typically on a bigger truck the plow will be bigger..where i live, yo need at least an 8 foot plow to plow for our town..

@34celticpride a vehicle's call as in F150, 1500, 3500 only lets you know what it can carry for weight, sure alot of people make a mistake when they own a BIG truck as in a dually and think they need some huge plow. As I said in my other post, the 7.5 is the standard size plow that smart poepl buy no matter what they drive. I worked for fisher plow several years ago and a dually's front end deminsions in the same as in a plain jain 1500 give or take alittle with certain suspension types

@fordwindsor351 for a dually 1 ton its pretty small,,average on a 1/2 ton is 7'5"-7'-6",3/4 8-8'6", 1 tons 8'6"-10..

@34celticpride for one, a 7.5 plow isnt really that small when the 8 footer is the standard (average) size
why such a small plow on a huige truck?

@34celticpride I was just running it! I think that the plow was once on a smaller pick-up.
