Toyota Yaris. Recently, erratic gas prices have increased demand for small, fuel-efficient vehicles. Toyota is meeting this demand with the Yaris, replacing the Echo as its smallest and most economical offering.

Welcome to Kelley Blue Books Review of the Toyota Yaris.

The all-new Yaris is longer and wider than its predecessor, with a more sophisticated Euro look. The Yaris comes in two very distinct styles, the Liftback and Sedan. The shorter Liftback has combines avant garde styling with a practical rear hatch and versatile seating arrangement. The longer Sedan offers a more conventional design with plenty of interior space. It is also offered in a sportier S configuration.

Both Yaris models deliver Toyotas reputation for quality in a small, fuel-efficient package. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit http://www.kbb.com today.

  • american took advantage of destroying toyotas reputation for a pedal, which toyota took blame and they fixed it. The engine is still reliable. Every car has recalls.. but since toyota is known for good sales and was winning over new car owners. "America" decided to make it worse than it really was. America was loosing sells with gmc and ford. Now since the recall crap. Ford sales has sky rocketed. hmm. ???

  • sedan looks great. I would be embarrassed driving the hatchback

    China: Guangzhou

    France: Valenciennes

    Indonesia: Karawang

    Japan: Kanegasaki, Iwate; Ōbu, Aichi

  • News about the 2012 model: Speedometer is behind the steering wheel, not on the center of the dash. The new car gets an exterior, more masculine makeover.

  • The rear seats are also adjustable... (In the small version) Which makes a lot more room in the back seats. Or a big trunk when you want go shopping!

  • @richieasian Toyota yaris is for people that can't afford a civic. This car is in the same class as the chevy Aveo and if you compare these two cars, the yaris is better.

  • you know your life is over when you get a yaris... no offense. get a honda civic or a fiat or SOMETHING... ANYTHING other than that! :O

  • @rookie33333 I agree with you.

The Yaris is an affordable, fuel efficiency car and I generally like the design, but what the hell is with the dashboard placement? Also, it's incredibly barebones.

The Honda Fit is an excellent choice, but it has a much higher MSRP. For its price range, I think you can get the Ford Fiesta, which reviews says offer a great ride with excellent built-in tech all while getting 32 combined MPG.

  • @hardcorexxx69 Exactly.

Ultimately, it doesn't change much because Toyota will always be a quality brand and a top seller, but it does get aggravating to see the hypocrisy. Me? Personally, I used to recall a company which released a car famous for exploding due to a faulty gas tank.

I'll give a hint as to what company it is -- It is the same company that recently had to recall over a million vehicles due to a faulty gas tank issue again.
