A little advertising for those interested: I've been doing 15 Minute Melee runs recently. Here's the link to the playlist:

And yes, I'm the same guy with the mask you may have seen playing this game at Comic-Con on the Sunday.
Within the second day of streaming Kirby's Epic Return to Dream Land, I managed to beat the Arena without abilities. So here's the video, recorded on the morning of the 3rd day after the game's release. Ayup, you definitely won't see something like this from anybody within the Hyphy Movement, the Uni-Mind including trolls, the San Francisco Bay Area residents who prove that it doesn't deserve to be called the "Yay Area", the shallow girls who would say "wanna suck my pee" just to mock me, and the Oakland rioters. (Granted, I used 3 healing items, but I still manage the mere run in less than half a week after the game's release.)
By the way, K(E)RtDL actually improves on abilities in general. ESPECIALLY STONE! Don't believe me? Just note the various things you can do with them. Stone is by far the most improved ability. If you want to know why, just play the game, look up Stone's info on the pause screen, and see whether or not it's just some cheap invincibility camping. And the music. I feel the range of quality is large, but the upper end is definitely high up, COOKIE COUNTRY MAP THEME! The graphics need no mention, and the general play is very good. Fake Difficulty is around, but thankfully low enough that 3-4's 3rd Energy Sphere (which is missed by taking the Path of Greatest Resistance) has minimal competition for stupidest moment in the game, simply because the stupid moments aren't numerous. Also, Xen Syndrome is not at any noteworthy level, which is more than what I can say for Donkey Kong Country Returns.
DEFINITELY GET THIS GAME! While there are a few pacing problems, the game is still overall VERY good, and considering my experiences are purely single player (as if I have a choice, no thanks to those shallow girls), that is saying something when the game is designed with multiplayer in mind.
As to the arena, I'd have to be wary of delving in because doing so provides spoilers, but please note that the bosses generally like to punish being aerial. This means that overrelying on aerial maneuverability for evasion is just asking for trouble. Also, please for the love of God don't corner camp in general in the last boss fight, because the boss has plenty of attacks for punishing that too. And if you think you can just cheese some of them with abilities, they have this nice little thing called background attacks where they can mercilessly try to pound you and you can't hit them. (Another good thing about the game. They actually give incentive to fight bosses without abilities.)
The boss patterns have minimal randomization, though. Here's to hoping Extra Mode makes their behavior not so set.
Naturally, spoilers are abound. Those who have not beaten the game entirely, you have been warned.
By the way, viewers, an even better run has been recorded, in that I didn't even do any healing for it. And it will show that a no damage run is DEFINITELY possible, even if I have no need to try for that. I will get the run uploaded ASAP and then link to it.
