The Ascension of St. Stupid

Marc Ribaud's sculptural entry into the St. Stupid Art Show (2011) at K Gallery in Alameda, CA.

The signage reads:

...On the firstmost day of the fourthest month, those who there hadst gathered upon the sacred spotte did their ears report a melifluous tinkling most sonorous and holy, and they gazing then aloft, beheld one, who had but erstwhile walked stupidly amongst them, arise forthwith into the heavens.
Trembling then and smiting themselves with thorned brambles they did fall prostrate before his glory...

(so, it is written)

Here now is presented an apparatus which accurately recreates the miracle exactly as it occured. The faithful, by means of the above referenced knob, may now edify themselves at will with the direct experience of deep and abiding stupidity.
