Now I think I'll check my car's turbocharger, even it's not a powerstroke. It has 200k kilometers, and it's starting to consume more diesel than usual. I'll do a complete check.
if you look in the center of the piston is has 6 indentions in the center called a rose burn. the truck was chipped and pushing to much fuel for a long time. the rose burn didnt happen at the same time as the outer damage of the piston. the studs wont help this at all except keep the heads from floating at higher boost from the truck being chipped but if the guy chipped it he takes a gamble anyway.
