Hi all!
My name is Michel Balatti and I'm from Savona, Italy.
I play Irish music and traditional music from my region (Liguria).
I'm the flute player with the band Birkin Tree (www.birkintree.com).
Here's my own take on Tim Moloney's reel. I learnt this tune from my good friend John Rynne from Ennis, co. Clare. Played on a John Gallagher flute.

  • Tim Moloney's is one of my favorite Tune! The Dubliner's version is the Best. Don't offend but In my opinion I don't like when pipe/Banjo/Mandola fast music is played slowly on flute.

  • Hi arkhatych, I didn't know that Dubliners recorded this tune..my favourite version of it was recorded by Tola Custy and Cyril O'Donoghue on their "Setting Free" recording. It's much slower than my version, go figure! I don't like Irish music to be played too fast, in my opinion it lacks "balls".

  • Great playing there! post some more.

  • Thank you! I just posted another tune..
