Johnny Horton is truely THE HONKY TONK MAN Not those so called others!!!!

I heard "Goodbye Lonesome, Hello Baby Doll" by Johnny Horton on an oldies show her in the UK a few years back, and I must say I much preferred that version, which was presented as having been the original release of the record, to this version here, which is slower, with a lot less drive, and, to my way of thinking, definitely less commercial.

That's very true..What's more incredible is i took this track from a vinyl album called the unforgettable Johnny Horton on the Hallmark label..that was a cheap label you used to find on stands in all kinds of stores in the late 60's/early 70's..i believe i bought it for about 15 shillings..that's probably the first time the song had been released..certainly in the uk..
