How does this do on an extremely overdriven sound (Playing out of a Peavey 6505 combo) and then switching directly to it without taking the effects off? Also, what is the G. Amp?

I dislike the fact that he doesn't compare the effect with it's bypass but only with a dirt sound. This way I can't really hear what the effect does.
