Anyone else think the music is awsome?.The films a little strange but the Nyman's music is unforgettable.

@PadmeAmadildo Oh, i say! :O

@Jasey2007 The fruit of Mister Neville's plums no doubt...
-
what was that woman at 4:57 spitting out?

@tlatosmd hhmmm- thanks; the story about Persephone is definitely relevant to the plot, though a chthonic (briefly looked it up on wikipedia- has to do with sacrifice as well?) would make sense in relation to the dynamic between Mrs Herbert and Mr Neville, and not wanting to give it away, but others involved in the plotline too
thanks so much!

The nurse tells the story how Persephone was captured by the God of the Underworld, Pluto. Persephone's mother was the godess of harvest and wanted her daughter back. Therefore all activity of nature stopped until Plutp allowed Persephone to stay half the year in the world above...Viele Grüsse aus Deutschland...welt_des_klangs
PS: "Der Kontrakt des Zeichners" is a very good movie!!!

@sslohier I'm not quite sure about the "evil Neitherworld God" here. Could be that the proper English translation might rather be "Chthonic" which in Greek mythology was a race of evil elder divinities related to the ground or were "subterranean".

can anyone tell me what the nurse is saying in German starting at 4:25? it would really help me understand the connection to the characters and plotline.. thanks
Certain street intersections where I live have the words painted upon the asphalt, "KEEP CLEAR" (for a train crossing, etc.).
I have seen this film so many times, that whenever I am waiting at such an intersection, I can't help but think: "The intersection of First and Main Street will be KEPT... CLEAR..."

@sslohier "Once, there was a beautiful princess in ancient Greece. Her name was Persephone. One day, the evil Neitherworld (or Chthonic?) God came to abduct her. Her divine mother cried so much that the evil Neitherworld God felt pity for her and gave her her beautiful daughter back."
