  • It is so exciting to hear you say the Himalayas have been in your thoughts ever since your summit and that you cannot wait to go back. You sound very passionate and committed are about it!!! As if you already have plans coming up your way… Are there any concrete plans for yet another successful climb? Will it be Everest or any other of the Himalayas range? What type of training (physical and mental), mountaineering experience is required to climb Everest?

  • @carm3nal3x The normal route being so travelled and rope fixed from bottom to top means anyone with decent physical condition and strong resolve has a shot at summiting (on oxygen of course). Naysayers often whine about this but most of them have never been to the himalayas. I can tell you that the mountain is every bit as beautiful as it ever been.

  • Glibed... out of curiosity, did you summit without the use of oxygen? I cannot tell by looking at your summit image. Regardless, I think you did an extraordinary, amazing job. Also, you successfully climbed Everest back in 2008. Why did it take you so long to post this YouTube share?? :D This HD version is really captivating!!! From the music, to the people, the mountain, the Tibet cause, your journey. One can truly feel the spirit of it all!!! Congratulations!! Bravo!!!

  • @carm3nal3x Yes i used oxygen. I saw one man without oxygen that day (it struck me because everyone i came accross had a mask on but this guy's mouth was wide open gasping for air). I gave him encouragements as summit was only 1 hour away and I continued my way down the summit. Later i learned things turned bad for him and he died on his way down despite rescue efforts by other teams. Very unfortunate.

I put this video together out of nostalgia. The himalayas have been in my thoughts everyday since the climb and i can't wait to go back.

Thank you for your kind comments

  • Glibed. Thank you for taking the time to reply and share a bit of your Everest experience through these lines. I wish you much success in all your future journeys.

And remember, for some of us your videos are the closest we would ever be to those magical places. So please keep it up! :)

  • Glibed,

You see, I’ve been fascinated with Everest, Its climb and all it entails (struggle, effort, hard work, discipline, disappointment, joy, etc.).

  • Glibed,

That man’s fate was unfortunate as you mentioned… To achieve our dreams in life we do have to push ourselves to the limit, but when does it become too much? When do we stop? Sometimes, it does become a life over death situation.

  • Amazing and well put together.
