Biography:
METSWAKO RETSWA HOLE.

What happens? when you blend the genres of South African music, and take them back, way back, back to the classics, classical that is take your Afro-Pop, Kwaito, Hip Hop, House and add that classical touch thats METSWAKO

Translation: Metswako, a mixture of different music genres, forming a unique sound.
METSWAKO consists of three members - Tshepo, Bernard, and Shalamar.

Behind this music fusion are music tutors Tshepo Komane and Bernard Madumo who play the violin and viola respectively. The two are both in their0 own rights at the forefront of classical music in South Africa and have played in the Johannesburg Philharmonic, the Johannesburg festival, the Johannesburg Music initiative and the Cape Philharmonic.

Adding a sweet harmony to the ensemble is female vocalist Shalamar, like many of her counterparts, started her vocal training in the aisles of the church, however it was whilst performing in a Joyous Celabration musical along side the now very well known Presley ala TSOTSI fame that she linked up with her male counterparts.

Having already achieved phenomenal success with there first album, PHENDUKA, Kora award for best Southern African new comer 2003 nominee, 2006 sees the return of METSWAKO, once again with Thasos immaculate production for this there sophamore album, RETSWA HOLE. The first single INTOKAZI is about to change the musical terrain, setting the platform for METSWAKO to garner not just local but international attention

Metswako is challenging all boundaries by creating a style that will sustain to the future.
