The amp distortion sounds better. No question about it.

Wow, thanks for this demo!

@LPMojoGL you know whats funny I love my DSL 50's clean and crunch channel but I hate the red channels, I should point out that I ave the 1923C (combo) I think the half stack closed back cab sounds much better on the lead channels. I think Im gonna go build a rat now.

...or turn the high end down on the clean channel of the amp.

Close, but the amp sounds better. Turn the filter up more on the pedal and you'll get closer. That's a common mistake a lot of Rat owners make. They don't roll enough highs off. Turn that filter all the way to 3-o-clock. I have the same pedal, trust me. The lead channel on that amp sounds great.

It's so crazy that so many amps get pushed by overdrive and distortion pedals because they need to. Soldano's, you don't need waste the money on a pedal. Plug and go, baby.

Never heard one, myself. The Rat would be a better pedal, IMO, if someone fixed the tone knob to be more usable. It's either too trebly or too bassy for my ears.
Is this amp a good amp or a great amp? The amp is UAS made right? They use top notch components right?
I just bought one for $1300 was it a good deal?

@JBL8863 Great amp, one of my favs, made in USA with best components. $1100-$1350 seems to be the range these go for, used. Only thing that I don't dig about the amp is the effects loop. Look to the Marshall DSL50 as a cheaper alternative with more versatility and a great effects loop.
