  • You might want to mention that after sewing down all the elastic thread you want to hit it with a little steam from the iron. Not actually iron it, but hover over it while the iron shoots down the steam. It fully activates the elastic and draws in the shirring.

I really like this. I got some silky white satin and made myself a cute summer night gown using this method. Thank you.

  • what kind of fabric did you use

  • Exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

  • I really like this. Im gonna make it with my friend ;-)

  • Holy mother of fabric shops! D: <3

  • OMG, I have this pattern, on my bed! LOL! (ikea)

  • could you please make a fitted vest? Can't find them in the stores for women these days at ALL!

  • Thanks for the tips :) i kinda had a vague idea of how this would work out from other web tutorials i read but its always easier seeing it done on youtube. I bought some beautiful chocolate/cream/baby blue calico fabric and some cream colored lace to trim underneath the shirring, and instead of making it a straight dress im going to do a tired ruffle and braid 3 pieces of thin strips to make straps on the side rather than a halter. it's turning out awesome!

  • Check out my tutorial video on how I made a trendy colorblock dress in no time

  • did you make the green shirt that your wearing??? if so PLZ do a how to vid
