throwing from your knees is special, just don't do it in the game unless you have to

... and the best advice anyone can give someone with your potential is "don't settle." I haven't timed it in a while, but last I knew I had a pop time in the 1.8 range. My favorite catcher to watch growing up was Ivan Rodriguez (in his prime). I remember timing out one of his throws in a game at 1.68. Ever since then, I've wanted to beat it. Once I do beat it, I still be looking to get better. There's always something you can do better.

I'm a college catcher. Looks great. few things though. 1) finish the throw ... let your back side leg come through after the throw and pull the glove side arm through to your left hip. It gives you a little more pop on the throw and more consistancy in accuracy. 2) Going from the knees is all show. It's ok to do it during pregame warmups just to let the other team know you have a cannon ;) but your footwork and hands should be about the same speed as one another. So in a game I would stand.
