Why does EVERYONE on these freaking cat vids think that a cat meowing is either in mortal pain or the throes of ecstacy?? People 'spank' dogs all the time and the dogs pant and whine and all that but no one ever says THAT's hurting them or "masturbin" them. Please.

Ok, i'm so glad I found this because my boyfriend just discovered this with our neutered male cat. When you pat his butt like this guy is doing he not only does the meowing, but he goes one step further and starts biting what ever is in front of him. I really do believe it is a sexual response. From reading up on it, male cats still do have hormones even though they are altered. So they still are capable of sexual behavior... even though it's a little disturbing. So it is normal behavior!

Just so that you know this....there is a nerve on a cats butt that can disable their ability to move away. My kitty used to nibble her wrists when her butt was scratched. Once she got into the hamper and when we got home her wrists were raw because even when she tried to turn away her back by her tail rubbed on the sides of the hamper. Listen to your cat. He will tell you if he likes this or not. My B cat used to love to be spanked and rubbed my hands for more if I stopped.
