Ableton Certified Trainer and Dubspot Instructor, Michael Hatsis, a.k.a. !banginclude explains and demonstrates basic and essential warping techniques in Ableton Live in the part one of this three-part video tutorial series exploring creative ways to warp tracks in Live. Using a standard house track with a 4x4 drum pattern, Hatsis shows how to set Live warping preferences, determining and entering an approximate tempo by tapping the tempo Tab along with the song, figuring out the downbeat and set where the track starts, in this case - first kick, transient marker. Stay tuned for part two and three, as Michael Hatsis delves further into Live and offers more creative tips and techniques for warping.

  • @DJJayAre - ha! we were thinking the same thing.

  • MUCH APPRECIATED!! For me, warping has been a problem and if I could warp like I want to, I would be able to get more accomplished inside Ableton. Keep this series coming and please show us how to warp guitar segments and vocals etc. Thanks!

  • @sk6mix - no doubt!

  • he sounds like paul walker from fast and furious lol

  • @CahirMcgorrey Have you figured out how to fix this? I'm having the same problem.

  • @imdjignite I'm having the same problem. Have you figured out how to fix it?

  • UMMM what do you do if the start of a song is not a clear bass hit. like it fades in for example do you just go the next break or what? hell one of the songs I downloaded was incomplete and it messed up the bpm as to what it would have been if it was a full track. anyone catch my drift?

  • Is this important to set the Warping "Beats" ? or better is "re-pitch" I really couldn't choose because when I choose "Beats" the melody and bassline start to cut them selves (it's hard to notice but when you've heared the song before it's really annoying) and when I choose "Re-Pitch" the melody and bass is okay but the beats will change little bit diiferent (maybe a little filtered or smth)

    pls help

  • Wowwwww, just woww. Thank you so much for posting this. BEST warping tutorial i've seen yet.
