EFFECTIVE DATE: October 1, 2006, and applicable to assessment years beginning on or after October 1, 2006 for the property tax freeze for the elderly, upon passage and applicable to assessment years beginning on or after October 1, 2006 for the revaluation provisions. PA 06-196 makes the new revaluation provisions effective October 1, 2006 and applicable to assessment years beginning on or after October 1, 2005.

Senator Robert Kane was on the Watertown Town counsel and and ond the town Finance commitee when Gov Jody Rell introduced this act.  Kane took $85,000 in campaign funds Spent it on US Mail Flyers and never mentioned senior citizens Real estate Tax Cap or relief.
