Our is idea is to develop a self-navigating wheel chair controller system for disabled patients. Our system is composed of two main systems, self-navigation system and articulation monitoring system. First, the self-navigation system is used to navigate the wheel chair autonomously through any closed placed by inserting the map of that place into the device. The map is a template containing all paths and targets in that place, it can be updated, simply by inserting a new map by USB flash disk or connecting the device to a computer. Patient chooses a target, and the system will direct the wheelchair to it through the shortest path, motion will be displayed on the LCD and it will be converted into real motion. Second, the articulation monitoring system. This system monitors the movement of joints of the patient that are in area of problem. those motions are checked by the device. The device will able to take decision upon information from collected data, it will also be sent to a local PC as log and to the supervising doctor if available.Sensors used to collect that data are accelerometers positioned on specific joints.
