i just signed up for a youtube account for the sole purpose of telling you that i love your video! breakfast at tiffany's has caused multiple fights between my bf and me. he loves the movie, whereas i passionately loathe it with every fiber of my being. it's pure garbage, and any girl who admires audrey hepburn in that movie is demented.

This is getting tl;dr, but one ps!

-The issue in my first comment is that folks seem to mostly bash the film for the wrong reasons (see: "Ugh! Twilight is so gaaay look a guy with feelings so gaay. Stupid tween girls like this and tween girls are all stuupiid") as opposed to the right ones; smurfetting of Holly, the undeniable racism etc (see: "Twilight is messed up because this guy is a glorified stalker, which we are meant to find charming rather than creepy and dangerous").

Also, colour me confused re: "making all women like call girls" point. Perhaps this would stand if Holly were a side character to a male main character, but she is the main character and because we get to see her individual circumstances and motivations, she doesn't fit that "[representation of women as a whole]" marker (to my mind). Misogynistic bullshit like calling the character a "bitch" and threatening physical violence isn't a very positive indicator of BaT unfan's mentality.

Wow this is an old video!

I stumbled upon this, and, I am simultaneously a)an owner of a BaT DVD, b) able to find this funny and c) not 'demented' as one truly ~charming~ person will automatically assume me to be. I do like BaT, but that's not to say it doesn't have problems. That said, I am kind of over unfans bashing the film w/regards to it's emotionality (because so-called "feminine" qualities are gross! Cooties, ew!) and perhaps more the in-your-face racism (Hello, Mr Yunioshi anybody?)
