Single Cicada sings on a tree in Denver Colorado USA during an August evening in 2009. This seems to be the most common type of Cicada around here. Normally they hide high in the trees but this one was eye level and seen while out for a walk one night.

What a lovely video of Tibicen dealbatus! They'll sing for hours during the day and evening, During the 2010 heat wave, many were silent during the day but sang all night in Hutchinson, KS. The more eastern version is Tibicen pronotalis, which sounds the same.
