The man it truly a Singer's singer. He did not hit the waves like the 3 tenors but His technique was superb and he sang with distinction. A cut above the rest.

Beautiful ... prefer a contralto, the ladies seem to be more expressive/emotional/more pathos perhaps, but he comes a fair close ... for a man! I do admire his voice.

Von 1928 bis 1936 lebte Geddas Familie in Leipzig, wo seine musikalische Ausbildung begann. 1936 erfolgte die Rückkehr nach Stockholm, wo Gedda am Konservatorium studierte und 1952 als Chapelou in Adolphe Adams Le Postillon de Longjumeau debütierte. Gedda wurde sehr rasch zu einem der gefragtesten Mozart- und Oratorieninterpreten des 20ten Jahrhunderts und gab zu Beginn des 21. Jh. noch große Recitals unter anderem in der Hamburgischen und in der Wiener Staatsoper. wikipedia
