Caffe Vivaldi is a charming little restaurant in the Greenwich Village neighbourhood in New York City with good food and live music almost every nite. One cold Monday evening in December 2009, Caffe Vivaldi staged its weekly Open Mic Nite, where I decided I was going to take a chance and play for a Manhattan audience. Having never played anywhere in New York City (my hometown) ever, a part of me was expecting an audience of hardened and temperamental artists who would boo me and my songs right out of the state. I was proven wrong after the nite's first act played their set. They have a very supportive and enthusiastic crowd where the other artists are very encouraging to the newbies on the block.

On this nite, the music went on past midnite (like it does most nite I was told), and I was lucky enough to share the stage with alot of really talented musicians, such as Jamie Bendell, A Girl and A Boy, Left on Red, Josh Taylor, Rachel & Chad, Kristen "KK" Kairos, and many others. In this video, you'll get a flavour for the range of talent that Caffe Vivaldi supports and you'll get a feel for what an open mic nite at Caffe Vivaldi is like - and you'll see it's a really good time!
