Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi Says Adam Lambert Was Always 'Out'

In a taped interview scheduled to air on ABC's "The View" Friday, DioGuardi said she has no doubts that Lambert's "out."
For a second there, one of the gals thought they were talking about Ryan Seacrest.

Asked by Barbara Walters whether Lambert's perceived sexuality may have influenced "Idol" voters, DioGuardi said, "Well, first of all, I hope not ... because we should be judging on talent and viability in the music industry and they both [Lambert and Allen] had that."

Either way, she said, "I don't think that Adam [Lambert] was ever in [the closet]," DioGuardi continued. "I think he was always openly out."

Lambert has so far skirted questions about his sexuality (although he is rumored to announce he's gay in an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone). "I know who I am," he recently told Entertainment Weekly. "I'm an honest guy, and I'm just going to keep on singing," added the 27-year-old San Diego native.

Simon Cowell previously told TV Guide that Idol has "never had an issue" with Lambert's sexuality and called it a "huge step forward".

Barbara Walters needs to SHUT HER FACE. She has nerve even to ASK KARA about this. Kara spoke the truth. Does Adam need to say he's gay to be on the show? There have been gay performers for like 30 years that were out. The whole thing is ridiculous. Judge the talent, not this issue. Still pisses me off!

I don't like kara, but cheers to her for assuming it's not a big deal, because it's not people! Is it a big deal to be straight? I knew he was gay from the beginning it was pretty obvious! I'm a girl and that did not stop me from voting for him! I voted based on his amazing voice and stage presence week after week which mesmerized me every time!
