I actually know Mehserle. He dated my sister for about six months. For all those foaming at the mouth and screaming racism.... you don't understand at all. Mehserle is kind of an idiot. Actually more of a klutz. He was constantly tripping or running into things when I knew him. When they said he accidentally pulled his gun instead of a tazer, I didn't doubt it for a second. It's tragic that someone died because of it, but I know he's probably dieing inside because of this. he's not a racist.

@wildpeachatl737 you cannot tell him that... they're out there for themselves... nothing else.... their veiws and beliefs are for the most part totally distorted.... the only thing you can tell him is to remain calm and compliant when dealing with the law.

One less gangbanger on the streets. The cop will be off in a year with good behaviour.

The police do what they want. The courts do what they want. The government does want they want.

@wildpeachatl737 Try teaching him not to fight on a train, assault police officers, possess cocaine, and resist arrest. Use this as an opportunity to teach him what can happen when you go down that road.
This could have been my son...he's only 15 and how can I look him in the eye and tell him that the police have his best interests in mind when they view him as a born suspect and all he sees is this?

a mistake is running a red light and getting into an accident. Shooting someone in the back is murderous and deserves swift and sever action.
